Foreign woman found dead in Lucknow OYO hotel, police search for companion Delhi man

A shocking news has emerged from the Uttar Pradesh capital, where a foreign woman was found dead in a room of an OYO hotel. The victim has been identified as a 43-year-old Uzbekistan woman from Russia. She had booked the hotel on March 2 along with a man from Delhi. But on March 5, the man departed from the hotel, and after that, the woman's body was found dead.

The incident was discovered when the hotel employees saw that there was no movement from the room. When no reply came after knocking at the door, the management of the hotel informed the police. The police arrived quickly at the site and ordered a forensic team to investigate. Since the case is of a foreign national, the police are exercising utmost caution. The Russian embassy too has been notified regarding the incident.

Hotel records show major details

The accident had taken place in a hotel by the name 'Atithi Inn' within the Vijayant Khand sector under the area of jurisdiction of the Vibhutikhand police station. The female guest, who is Egamberdieva Zebo Khidirobna, had rented room number 109 with one man called Satnam from Delhi.

When the police checked the register of the hotel, they discovered that Satnam had checked out on March 5, and the woman was left alone in the hotel. The staff members had last seen her on Monday night when they had given her food and water. But on Tuesday, when the housekeeping staff went to her room for cleaning, there was no answer.

Police investigation and initial findings

Following some attempts at contacting her, the manager of the hotel used a master key to open the door and found the woman lying unconscious. Police were called immediately, and the woman was taken to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival by doctors.

The police in their inquiry discovered some intoxicating drugs in the hotel room. A forensic team has also obtained key evidence from the scene. Yet, the motive for her visit to Lucknow as well as her specific reason for meeting Satnam still remain unknown.

The police are of the view that finding Satnam might have helped unravel the mystery of her death. Inquiries are ongoing in order to ascertain the cause and circumstances of the tragedy.
